1. Stability

The main advantage of being a full time photographer at a company is that you will have a steady stream of income even without any projects in hand. But being a freelance photographers may not have all the necessary financial perks but they do offer the ability to choose the kind of exciting work a photographer desires.

2. Finance

Income, expenses and tax payments are the three most things to consider for any kind of photographer with an income source.

• Income of an in house photographer is steady, even if the hiring company has no work to offer to him. They get to know when the salary is credited but things such as hike in salary and numbers of working hours is beyond their control. On the other hand, freelancing photographers can set the rates and availability for their kind of work but the income is not steady. There is also the unfavourable factor of non-payment after the submission of the work.

• Taxes have to be paid by a full time employee as well as a freelancing photographer but a full time employee is eligible for a tax return.

• A freelance has to buy most of the ,if not, all of the photographic equipment such as the camera lenses and storage device which can quickly add up and most of them cannot afford such expensive equipment in the starting stages. In house photographers has almost no expenses as the hiring company provides most of the stuff. He still might have to pay in case the equipment is damaged while in his possession.

3. Creativity

Creativity is the most critical aspect to being a photographer. There is no doubt that freelancers have more creative control over the kind of work they do as well as how the final product should look like. The in house photographers will have to work in specific condition that have been instructed beforehand and even the editing of the images have to be done according to the internal processes.
